Back home. After a very long flight, but I'm home safely. Tired and wondering if and when I'll ever sleep again.
It was a great week. Lucky with the weather and the things I got to see. I would suggest maybe some moving sidewalks in London. And elevators, people! Come on! For the love of God!!!! Um, I digress....
A beautiful city with very lovely people. The food is pretty good to...do NOT try Garkunkels. Their hamburgers are horrible. But, if you like Indian food that are some really good places to go.
Thanks to my friend, Tony, I now know how to pour a proper English cup of tea. Thanks, Tony for everything.
Now, time to deal with the laundry and put everything away and then plan the next trip. What lucky country will get the honor of my presence???

Friday
Last day in London. More damn stairs, of course.
I went on a river cruise down Thames. A lovely day....sunny.
Then Tony and I went down to the market...a big farmer's market. A little bit of everything down there. After that, I went down to the Globe Theater. Not the original since it's not around anymore, but pretty close.
It's been a really nice week. Great weather--I got lucky.
Saw some things I went to some place I had been before: Big Ben, Trafalgar Square. And went to some places I had never been before: Stratford, Picadilly Circus.
I met some really nice people from all over the world. A cabbie who had just spent 3 weeks in the US driving from San Francisco to San Diego, stopping in various places along the way. He and his friend had a great time and only drove on the wrong the side of the road once. They went into Tijuana, Mexico for one day, which turned into four it was so much fun. It wasn't until the returned to San Diego they heard how dangerous Mexico could be. He was a blast to talk to.
I can't wait for my next trip. Wonder when it's going to be. I wonder if I can avoid stairs next time. Probably not.

Thursday
How in God’s name is it possible is it possible there was more of this city for me to walk today? And that everywhere I had goes today was upstairs. And, yet, somehow, when I was leaving, it STILL upstairs!!!!! My knees and feet are on fire. I am never walking again. Next place I visit is going to be no bigger than a postage stamp…say Monaco.
I started back at the museum because I only saw one wing the other day. Today I went for the other; again the DaVinci line was too long. When I walked over to where it was, the guy taking the tickets, asked told me they were sold out anyway when I told him the line was too long for me to wait I was just taking a peak. He then asked me to stand over to the side while he helped some people. He pointed to a particular area for me to stand. I did as he asked…looked up…I was standing right in front of the Last Supper. I almost passed out. I was there for about 5 minutes when he came and got me. He gave me a little wink as I left. Such a sweetie. I think we might be engaged now.
Then, I went to yet another museum…you know they have more than one in this town? I had afternoon tea at the British Museum. I would like to start afternoon tea in the US. I love it.
Then, of course, more damn walking. Even when taking the tube, have to walk to it one and then, there are stairs. Stairs, stairs, and more stairs.
I finished the day off by going to a show. We Will Rock You. The music of Queen. Today happens to be the 20th anniversary of Freddie Mercery’s death from Aids. The story of the show is ok, but the music is great.
I was standing here, overlooking Trafalgar Square, taking it all in. Enjoying the moment when I was brought back to earth by police sirens. Nice while it lasted.
Oh, hell no!
British Mus.

Russel Street. Last time I was here, I found Queen Victoria St. What are the chances I'll find Munoz St?

A Proper English Tea
Today I learned how to do a proper English tea.
At lunch I had a tea. As I was about to pour the tea into the cup, I felt I was getting a very strong look from the other side of the table.
"What?" I asked
"The milk goes in first, American" He said with disgust.
"Oh." I said as I put down the tea and poured the milk into my cup.
"Now, if you want, a sugar cube" He said followed by a sigh.
Well, that's how I remember it. It may have gone just a little differently, but I doubt it.
