One filled day…..
Met up with my friend ‘Dr. Who”. Remember that promise to hold $650,000 in my hand. Well, he came through. We went to the Bank of England Museum, where I held a real gold bar.
Forget everything you’ve seen in the movies. Those things are heavy as hell. No way they can be tossed around they are (well, unless you’re Arnold). No pictures allowed, but here is the link to their website http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/education/museum/
We stopped for lunch at a local pub. Evidentially, during the Winter, it is common to warm up red wine. “Cider”. Smelled nice. But, no I didn’t have any. Unlike my companion, I am not an alcoholic. J
We walked along the Thames. It was a little chilly, but not bad really. I’ve taken picture and will post them as well. I don’t think there is one in of London that we didn’t walk. It was great!
We then stopped for a drink at Gordon’s Pub. http://gordonswinebar.com/default.php A great place. Next time you are in London. Go here. I suspect this is what a Chicago speak-easy were like. It’s just outside the Embarkment Tube station.
It was chilly, cloudy day. The fog rolled in while we were out walking. After drinks, I got on the train to go back to my hotel, when I got out of the train station, the ground was wet. I had just missed the rain. More rain is expected tomorrow.
Welcome to London!!!!
